A Catholic Glossary
This page is for anyone who would like to understand the language of Christianity. Here, amongst other things, you will finally discover what that box on the high altar of the church is called (i.e. the one that the priest goes to during the Mass), as well as the names of the objects that the altar server uses when serving at Mass. If you have ever wondered what the robes that the priest wears during Mass are called, then you will also find the answer here. And if you have ever been embarrassed by not knowing the difference between a thurifer and a thuribul, then stick around because they will also be explained!
This glossary will be regularly updated. If you have any questions about what a word or phrase means then feel free to e-mail and ask. I will contact you personally and add your word to the glossary; for the chances are that you will not have been the only person to wonder what it meant!
