When St Ignatius wrote these words, the Catholic Church was present in only a small corner of the Middle East. 2000 years on, and one billion members strong, she is present in all the far corners of the world. China - After sweeping to power in 1949 the Chinese Communist Party suppressed the Catholic Church. In its place it created the schismatic Chinese Catholic Patriotic Association. Despite the Communist Party's best efforts, however, the Church still exists as an underground organisation. Please pray for the safe keeping of all Christians in China and for the country's deliverance from communist rule. If you click on China above you will be taken to the web site of the Cardinal Kung Foundation, which was set up to give help to the persecuted Church there.

Africa - The Church has only a handful of official web sites in Africa. To view the links, click on the map of Africa

Middle & Far East - Many of the countries in these regions do not have an official Church web site. To visit the those that do, click over the map of the Middle and Far East
