“Listen to us, unfailing Light, Lord our God, creator and source of all light, you who have made and illumined all things: Light of your angels; Light of your saints. May our hearts be lamps, kindled by you and burning to your honour. May they shine with truth and burn with truth, shining inextinguishably, burning and never consumed. And, as by this Easter Candle, which has been lighted here, we banish darkness from this place, do we ask you to expel every dark shadow from our lives. May we always be at home here, lit by you and shining in you, with a light that never fails, an observance that will never slacken. May the flame of faith, kindled by you, burn ever more brightly. Amen”.
