Selected Quotations

JOHN PAUL II was pope for twenty seven years. In that time he wrote about a range of subjects as wide and varied as his many travels. Indeed, it would take a book (possibly several) to do justice to his thought. Below are links to selected quotations - one for each year of his pontificate - which, if you have never read anything by the pope, will, I hope, serve as a useful introduction to his work. If the Pope's writing is already familiar to you, perhaps these words will serve as a useful aperatif that will inspire you to seek once more his full oeuvre. And indeed, if reading one of the quotations does inspire you to read more, you may easily do so by clicking on the link to the relevent discourse at the Vatican's web site.
